Tradeshift Awarded for Promoting the Circular Economy
Stephanie Dula 28 Jan 2015Though ‘circular economy’ is a term well-known to environmentalists and progressive entrepreneurs, it may not be a part of the common vernacular of P2P finance professionals. That may be slowly changing, however, as the sustainability benefits of a digitally networked global supply chain become more apparent.
Recently, PayStream was pleased to learn about some well-deserved recognition of one of our progressive, sustainability-minded partners. Last week, Tradeshift announced that the company won the Circular Economy Digital Disruptor Award. The prestigious Circular Awards are given to innovative companies promoting the circular economy as an alternative to the traditional linear economy.
“As a CEO, I’m very conscious of the impact that my company and its partners have on the environment,” said Christian Lanng, CEO of Tradeshift. “As global citizens, we have a responsibility to use our resources wisely. If our company can decrease the number of paper invoices being used while educating others on sustainability certifications and green spending analytics, we are moving in the right direction.”
We’re excited to see this kind of exposure for Tradeshift’s commitment to sustainability, as well as the recognition this brings to the P2P industry as a whole. P2P automation technologies give global access to suppliers in developing countries as well as significantly reduce demand for paper across the entire supply chain.
